Colorado VINE / COVINE / VINELink is a free 24-hour custody-status notification service described by Colorado sheriff sources as available in English and Spanish. The statewide VINE page is vinelink.vineapps.com/state/CO/ENGLISH, with a legacy route at vinelink.com/state/CO. The COVINE toll-free number documented in sheriff guidance is 1-888-263-8463.
VINE is not the same as a court record, CDOC sentence calculation, or Moffat County sheriff release file. It can show custody-status events from participating agencies and let a user register for alerts. A Moffat County jail release should still be confirmed through the Moffat County Detention Facility, the sheriff records request process, and the Moffat court docket. A state-prison release or parole event should be checked through CDOC and parole records.
Check a Specific Moffat Person
Search VINE by the specific person rather than browsing for a general release list. Moffat County does not have a verified public 24-hour or 72-hour release table in the reviewed sheriff source set, so the VINE task is to find a custody-status event or register before release occurs. The sheriff's official CRIMEWATCH portal has detention, records, incident, broadcast, and service pages, but the reviewed arrest and warrant buckets were not a rolling release feed.

Register for Release Notifications
VINE is strongest before release, when a user wants to be told that a person has left custody or moved. Colorado sheriff instructions describe notification options that can include phone, email, text, and TTY, with phone notification requiring a PIN where required. The PIN matters because phone alerts may require confirmation that the notification was received.
- Find the correct person in Colorado VINE using name, ID, and facility filters.
- Open the details or register option for that record.
- Choose the available notification method, such as phone, email, text, or TTY.
- Enter the required contact information and create or enter any required PIN.
- Complete the confirmation step shown by VINE. Keep the PIN available for phone-notification acknowledgment if the system requires it.
VINE Limits and Confirmation
VINE should not be used as the only proof of a Moffat County release. It may not show a person who is outside the VINE coverage window, entered under different identifying information, in a nonparticipating system, already released too long ago for display, or held in a federal system. Federal Bureau of Prisons custody is checked through BOP, and immigration detention is checked through ICE's Online Detainee Locator System for the custody stage it covers.
County Jail vs CDOC Alerts
A person can leave the Moffat County Detention Facility and still be in custody somewhere else. The county release record may show bond, court order, time served, sentence completion, transfer, or another legal hold. If VINE shows a recent release or no longer shows a person, confirm what happened through the source that owns the event. The jail can answer current custody questions; the sheriff records custodian can document the booking and release record; the court docket can show bond, sentence, warrant, or disposition events; and CDOC can show state-prison status. That chain prevents a common mistake: treating a person who dropped from a jail-facing system as if the person had necessarily completed every sentence or supervision obligation.
Registry Is Not a Release List
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation Sex Offender Registry is a separate post-release channel for people subject to Colorado registration and eligible for public internet posting. The CBI agreement page says the site does not display the entire list of registrants in Colorado, cites C.R.S. 16-22-111, and says records are updated hourly when available. It is not a general released-inmate search and should not be used as a substitute for VINE, sheriff records, CDOC, or court records.
